Save $780 a Year and Improve
Accuracy
Internet Title Lookup -
This new feature will pull title information from the Internet
and import it right into Phoenix [title, genre, rating, run
time, theater year, synopsis, actors, director, producer,
writer, and studio].
How many hours a year do you
spend entering title information? I bet it is at least one
hour a week and I would bet your time is worth at least $15 an
hour. If you take 52 weeks multiplied by $15 an hour, you
would save $780 a year using those conservative numbers.

Drive Traffic With
Low Cost Advertising
Email Marketing - Do you recall all
those traffic driving tools in previous version of
Phoenix? [customer drop off report, demographics
reporting, form letters, customer targeting based on
purchasing]. Now all the results from these reports can
generate into an email list that can be used in bulk
advertising.
For example, you could target customers that
have purchased previously viewed DVDs in the past year, and
generate an email that contains a coupon or an announcement of
titles going into the previously viewed rack.
Another example, you could target customers
that at one time were highly profitable but have stopped
coming in or spending as much with your store. You could
quickly generate an email with a coupon or other incentive to
get them coming back into your store.

Faster By Scanning Their License
Driver's License Scanning - Most
States have a 2-D barcode on the back of the customers
driver's license and you can scan this information [with a 2-D
reader] and the customers information will import into Phoenix
(name, address, city, state, zip, telephone number, driver's
license number and expiration).

Faster Employee
Logins and Accurate Customer IDs
Fingerprint ID - The new fingerprint
ID system is a quick way to identify employees and customers.
For employees, this is a fast way to log into Phoenix. Your
clerks no longer have to remember a login name and password,
simply place their finger on the pad and they are logged into
the system.
As for customers, this system verifies the
customer you are working with and prevents people from using
other people's accounts.
Note: The system does not store an
actual fingerprint but rather an algorithm that is derived
from the print.

Manager Overrides
Reduce Risk
Manager Override System - This takes
the keys out of the hands of your clerks and puts them with
your manager. There are probably a couple functions that your
clerks need to use but you don't want to give them
unrestricted access to.
With this feature, you can take away the function
from your clerk and let your manager perform an override when
the time comes.
This puts the manager in charge and reduces
your risk of mistakes and theft from your clerks. As with all
"out of the norm" actions, this is logged in the
auditing system with a detailed description of what
transpired.

Prevent Over
Charging with Late Fee Caps
Late Fee Cap - More and more areas
are limiting the amount of late fees you can collect from your
customer. Computing the maximum you can collect is getting
harder. Leaving this computation up to your clerk seems
grim.
This new system will compute the maximum
late fee you can collect automatically. You set up how late an
item needs to be before you start the computation.
Then the system will compute the fee based
on how many days late you want to charge for and/or a
percentage of the cost or retail price of the item.
For example, after 30 days, you could charge
30 day's of late fees and 45% of the cost of the item.
This system is flexible enough to handle
almost any areas late fee cap computation. Screen

Save a Ton of Time
on Rental Product Reorders
Reorder Points For Rental Items -
This feature lets you set reorder points and stocking levels
on your rental database. This feature works great when you
keep one copy of a title and your customer can rent or
purchase the item. When the item sells, you are prompted to
